Welcome to Raleigh Neurosurgical Clinic

Since our doors opened in 1954, our commitment has remained the same: we believe in the highest quality care for our patients. Our doctors provide a full line of neurosurgical services. Whether the brain, spine, or peripheral nerves are affected, our neurosurgeons use state-of-the art technology and proven procedures to remedy the patient's condition. Our doctors offer neurosurgical service to a large and growing number of patients and their referring doctors throughout North Carolina and the Southeast.

Complete neurosurgical care includes neurovascular, general neurosurgical and spinal surgery. Our neurovascular service continues to grow under the guidance of Dr. Kimberly Livingston and Dr. Russell Margraf. We are the only neurosurgical group in the area with the expertise to treat cerebrovascular disease, whether through traditional approaches or endovascular techniques. Dr. Kimberly Livingston, our endovascular specialist, works to keep interventions as minimally invasive as possible. Using coils, balloons, and stents, Dr. Livingston treats many neurovascular lesions either definitively or adjunctively, which previously were not safely accessible via intra-arterial craniotomy. This includes intra-arterial treatments to reduce or prevent the deficits of stroke. When an endovascular approach is not amenable, Dr. Russell Margraf provides open treatments like craniotomy or endarterectomy for the diagnosis of aneurysm, arteriovenous malformation, carotid stenosis, and other neurovascular conditions.

Dr. Robert Allen, Dr. Robin Koeleveld, and Dr. Russell Margraf practice general neurosurgery using the most modern approaches for brain and spinal tumors, cerebrovascular disease, trauma, disc disease and other degenerative disorders of the spine and peripheral nerves. Dr. Koeleveld has a subspecialty interest in spinal stabilization, and instrumentation.  He works closely with Dr. Allen and Dr. Margraf, which allows us to be the only neurosurgical group in the area to offer the gamut of spinal fusion surgery.

As one of the largest Neurosurgical Groups in the Southeast, our doctors can provide a full line of neurosurgical services. Our statistics speak for themselves - with over 1,000 back and neck procedures and more than 500 cranial procedures performed each year.
